The committee votes to get the bills to the floor of the Senate were all on party lines. Once the rest of the votes were counted informally and the results were assured, two very bad bills went away. Make no mistake, pressure counts. Dems will vote against these bills if what they are hearing from their districts is overwhelmingly against. It takes 18 Senate votes to get a measure passed, two Dems are against most of the proposals, several from redder districts are leaning towards keeping their seats even if it means not toeing the party line. Pressure works and pressure counts, keep pouring it on.

You are only partly correct. Yes, they passed the house committee, house and senate committee on partly lines. There was much speculation that 2 dems were against a majority of the legislation. However, THEY FLIPPED. It has been reported and witnessed by people I know that were there yesterday, that the votes were right down party lines. 19 dems to 16 repubs. The two bills that didn't make it, we're killed by their own sponsors. Not by vote. You are right, the pressure is getting to them. The pressure from their own party, Bloomberg and his lobbyists, and Washington DC. And now they are even threatening the 23 county sheriffs that testified against the bills! I'm not saying give up the fight. But I am saying that there is some serious behind the scenes shenanigans going on! The deck is stacked against us. Obummer and Biden want to make an example out of us.
