I'm planning this years motorcycle ride and reviewing the carry laws in the states I will be visiting.
I have questions about two states that my Washington permit doesn't cover.

Colorado law allows car carry without a permit as spelled out below.

Carrying Requirements
.
(3) (a)
a person who may lawfully possess a handgun may carry a handgun under the following circumstances without
obtaining a permit and the handgun shall not be considered concealed:
(I)
the handgun is in the possession of a person who is in a private automobile or in some other private means of
conveyance and who carries the handgun for a legal use, including self defense.

In Colorado, does this mean the firearm needs to be on my person? I normally carry it locked in the saddlebag.

Since Nevada has no law against car carry, does that make it legal?

What agency do you contact when you want clarification on specific laws?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

No. In the saddlebag is fine. You are 'in possession of it there'.

That's how it works; no prohibition = legal.

For carrying weapons in Colorado... Colorado Bureau of Investigation: http://www.colorado.gov/cs/Satellite/CDPS-CBIMain/CBON/1251621964737

Thanks for the quick reply.
Are there any more strict city laws to watch out for? We will be spending two nights in Boulder and then heading for Utah.
