Colt Detective Special Born-on Date?

Can anyone tell me when my Colt revolver was manufactured? I think it's a second-series. Chambered in 38 special, serial #838XXX.

You have an either a 1963 or 1964 model Colt Detective Special; as the
S/N range for those years ran as follows:

819500 - 1963
839500 - 1964

Most likely, yours was made in 1964.

The below shows Detective Special serial number start years...I can find no serial number that starts with AD....call Colt and ask them......
