Went to the range Saturday. After a couple cylinders of 357 the front sight on my King Cobra went flying. I finally found it in the range bag. Just an FYI for anyone with a new Colt to check your front sight screw. BTW, the screw takes a 1.3mm Allen.

I've heard from two friends that the new Colt Cobras were poor revolvers; nowhere near the quality ofthe originals. Now am reading of this from a THR member.

I will not be buying any new Colt products. Colt obviously doesn't want to be in the firearms business anymore. That's o.k. by me, somebody else will take their place. Korth maybe.

I had that happen on a Garand once.., but I didn’t find it. A period and manufacturer correct replacement cost me 55 bucks.

Nice that you found yours, nothing more frustrating than losing a part in the middle of a shooting session.

Stay safe.

Yeah, the bead on one of my shotguns went into orbit once. That was about 20 years ago and it's still not fixed. It's ok though, that old single shot kicked so hard nobody ever wanted to shoot it!

My dads 16 is opposed to having a bead. It’s been replaced several times. Tapped to a larger size and reinstalled, honed internally to avoid contact, still pops beads after a dozen shots or so. It’s just a smooth top now. I have considered a bead a couple inches back but we don’t really use it so not fooling with it yet.

If the gun had been a KCTarget I would possibly wet myself. Does anyone know if the sights are attached the same way between those two variations?

Yet you have apparently not even bothered to read any of the numerous recent threads about the new Cobras (and King Cobras) in this very forum, many of which contained mostly laudatory, positive, even ecstatic comments from actual (gasp!) owners (such as myself) of the revolvers in question.

OP, sorry to hear of that issue (not uncommon and not restricted to only certain manufacturers), seems you identified and fixed the problem and powered on. Hopefully the only problem you'll encounter with your new revolver.
