Remove magazine, make sure pistol is empty, pull slide back to take down notch, push out slide stop, may come out hard as recoil spring is compressed...after slide stop is out ease slide forward keeping your thumb under the slide to hold in the recoil spring..when slide is off remove guild rod and spring to the rear, push reverse spring plug out to the rear also, flip barrel link forward and remove barrel to front........
Thanks a lot, I got it apart and cleaned but now am having trouble reassembleing. I assume that the slide stop pin goes through the barrel link. When I reinstall the slide, should the barrel link be flipped forward. I cannot replace the slide stop because the barrel link doesnt line up. I appreciate any input.
The way I do it is to insert a tool under the front of the recoil spring cap to hold the tension off the barrel link. You can also hold the slide just out of battery to keep the pressure of the link.
I have a few pictures that may help about 1/2 way down in my review of the New Agent. http://ezine.m1911.org/ColtNA.htm
