Just Traded for a very minty Mk V Trooper, Have tried to find serial #date list somewhere with no luck. I know the history of the MKIII and MkV So it has to be 1980-85 maybe 86 and not sure these are the grips that came on it. They are colt grips walnut or rose wood maybe, but have seen two on auction sights with presentation style more rounded butt grips and these are more square butt serial # is 03295V.
Looking for help thanks in advance

I have a Colt Trooper mk.V that I bought new in early 1984. My serial number is about 9,000 higher than yours. Mine has wood grips, sort of nothing special type. Not good looking or bad looking. I do not have a digital camera to send you a picture, but I could tell you, if you can post a picture, if mine are the same or similar. Jim

03295V was made in 1982.

Here's the original type of Colt factory grips as used on the Colt Trooper Mark V and also on later Colt's like the King Cobra and Anaconda.

These grips are "wrap around" that completely cover the steel grip frame and were made of Walnut. There was also a round butt grip with a small finger cutout on the bottom used on several limited production Mark V guns but not on standard production models.
Note that these Mark V grips WILL NOT interchange with the Colt Mark III guns.

Hey thanks Guys
Yep those are the grips and the info on the other grips answers what I have seen elsewhere, was going to post a pic but it was late when i put up the post.
good to know the year at least its a first year 1982, Where did you find the cross reference if you don't mind me asking, from what i have read they were 82-85
Very pleased with the trade I made, may have to keep this one. I don't think the thing has ever been fired and there is not a mark on it not a speck.
Thanks allot
