Heres a marlin 1894C stainless carbine. Little brother of the 336.

So who made it?
It is stamped National Postal Meter, but it was made by Union Switch & Signal (as indicated by a "U" stamped heel). Best I can tell only a few thousand were made.

Cool

Here's one made by Underwood (the typewriter Co.) in 1943

That is a good looking stock on your typewriter. :D Veering a little off topic, but that is one of the things that I love about the M1 Carbine (and to a lesser degree the M1 Garand as well); they were made by the most unusual companies. That makes it far more interesting than a Winchester (which also made some) IMO.

:)

I'm particularly interested in finding a picture comparing the sizes of an m4 ar-15, ak-47, and a marlin 336 (or win. 94- or all four!).

It's a Model 1894SS. but it's pretty close to the same size as a 336...

I'd say about an inch shorter, but close enough to get an idea for sure. Keep in mind that the weight is a good bit higher on the 336 (about 8oz. or so).

:)

I used to have a Winchester Model 94 in .30-30, neat rifles. But as of right now my only other lever gun is my 1895CB... and it's about 6" to long.

On a side note, I am sure the brady bunch would NOT consider my pic at all "Common"... little do they know...

Nice Carbine BTW, Mav.

Natescout, that M1a is flippin' sweet, but I have to ask... is it front heavy at all? Cause when I had my 20" HBar on a collapsible it was almost uncompfy to shoot standing.

Actually both your M1A's are pretty awesome... I like how they contrast.
