After researching the forum for the better brands, I was a toss between a Comp-tac(kydex I think) and Fobus(plastic) Evolution paddle holsters. Went with the Comp-tac after some reviews of the fobus being cheaper and not long lasting.

Adding to my decision, there was confusion on what holsters would fit the beretta 92fs type m9a1 (about 450rds thru) being that it has the rail. I ordered the comp-tac one for the Beretta vertec and it fits like a glove. Perfect! (Thanks to Shipwreck for the advice). The longer barrel (.2") was of no consequence being that the lower portion is open. I got the mag holder also (I already had a trial by fire with my friend entering me into a competition and I was totally unprepared. Had to borrow a bunch of things. Drawing, moving, loading mags, reloading and shooting was alot. Definitely a learning experience.) The competition set was $100 bucks.

Here's the set I bought. Saved some getting both together: http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=128

I couldn't wait for the Comp-tac holster to come in so I went ahead and got a generic/universal Blackhawk hip holster from my LGS just to practice drawing.

Works well. A little tight but just needs to be broken in some. This will be a back-up/cheapo one.

Note: These will only be worn to and from shooting events, range shooting & events, and in home for practicing (and HD situations).
