I have a LaRue 6.5 Grendel 18" upper ordered and looking for a comparable complete lower. I was looking at Aero Precision but they have nothing in stock. I know there is very little stock of anything. Do any of you guys know of a quality complete lower that may be in stock now or soon?

Also, the LaRue order status is "GTG". Is this Good To Go? All these dang abbreviations and acronyms...

IME, bypassing dependence on retail is not necessarily a bad idea, depending on how many rifles you're about to assemble in the long run.

I had a NC machine shop mill a run of lowers for me, at high precision and of best aluminum stock I could justify and afford at the time. It cost something as an one-time investment but I'll definitely never run out of lowers in my lifetime. Nor have to resort to bargain basement ones or pay an arm and a leg for any lower I can find if I decide to assemble another rifle when there's a shortage and prices have gone through the roof.

What kind of upper are you looking for?

Originally I was going to get a bottom end PSA standard upper just to make a back up shooter. However, the "pandemic" stole that opportunity from me. The I thought about getting a bare bones 7.62x39mm upper, since I reload that caliber too...I fear it will languish for some time, naked and afraid.

I fear it will languish for some time, naked and afraid.

The action bar that goes through the receiver into the barrel to tighten the barrel nut is only twenty dollars. If you only build one Upper you are out twenty dollars, but you did it when you wanted to.
The hand guard you like will probably come with a wrenchhead to fit it’s own barrel nut that goes on a ratchet. Torque values are overrated, get it tight, don’t kill it.
A slick side receiver will cut out some parts.

I know some Schmoe always comes by to say assemble one, I guess that’s me this time.:)
However, I’ve been seeing good deals on parts and things trying to keep these businesses going. Buying bit by bit could not only save you money, but get you a better end product.

Comfort her, don’t let her be afraid, and certainly don’t leave her naked too long. Safes are cold!:D

I'm hoping it's sooner, especially since the Aero Precision lower just shipped to the FFL. It's only my 2nd AR 15.

At least you've got your lower inbound!

I'm in on a group buy for 2 stripped Aero M4E1 lowers at our post Skeet club, it's been almost 2 months now waiting. The manager "thinks" they might ship next week. I've got my upper assembled, but now most of my lower parts are on back-order.......
