it's not so much being white and being racist about certain areas and cities. You could be the stereotypically blackest guy alive, and I'd still definitely reccomend staying away from Newark and such if you look like you have any sort of money or wealth on you whatsoever.

So, did any of the cops have an FFL to handle all those firearms transactions? Of course they did do a legally mandated background check on the person presenting the gun, right? If the answer is no, then why hasn't the ATF stepped in and arrested the people involved in the buy back program??? Seems to me a number of local people violated a number of federal laws....

such as? Private transfers are completely legal and require no background check. A background check is required to transfer a firearm from a dealer to a person. Person to person and person to dealer transactions do not require this background check. I am sorry, but you are incorrect. Anyone can forfeight a firearm to the police without a background check. Lack of understanding of these laws is why these programs are so successful. Many people don't realize that they can sell the guns for their actual value.
