I love the Comp-Tac CTAC with my S&W 337 and my .45 USP, but does anyone have the CTAC for an N-frame? Are you happy with it? What about other IWB rigs with the N-frames? Any recommendations or observations?

I was mostly hoping someone could reassure me that an N-frame isn't too large to conceal in an IWB rig before I plunk down $80+ for the CTAC...

I've been carrying my mouse gun (S&W 337) mostly this summer, along with my fullsize HK USP .45 - and it's not really any smaller or lighter than the 329 anyway, so my plan is to try concealling my S&W 329 .44maggie as the temps start cooling this fall and I can wear clothing that will conceal it.

Any recommended ammunition for S&W 329 CCW usage?

I've just been looking at the S&W 325 PD (.45 ACP) and had the same question about concealing an N frame. Don't want to spend almost $700 for something I can't carry concealed.

I've carried a 3" barrel model 657 concealed without a problem. 66" tall, and weighed 156 at the time.

I didn't carry IWB, though. :)

Somebody talking about this??
This is my M28 in a DeSantis #2 holster.
The stock of the gun almost reaches up to my armpit!!!! But yet, it conceals nicely with just a loose t-????r!! I don't carry it very often, but once in a while the mood will strike me!!!
Oh, and the #2 cost about half what that other holster costs!!!

I own five Smith N frame revolvers. Along with my GP100 Rugers, they are my favorite handguns. They are superb revolvers: extremely accurate, top-quality fit/finish, very reliable and durable, and simply beautiful. I have had not problem concealing the S&Ws, as follows:
> five-inch 27-2/627 Special Editions
high-rise, strong side FIST or VERY high-rise, strong side Bianchi
> four-inch 610 or 625-9 Mountain Gun
high-rise, strong side DeSantis (#002-44)

All of these concealed carry “systems†require an over garment, but an un-tucked loose shirt, wind shirt, sweater/sweatshirt, and so forth are more than adequate. When it gets colder, any jacket or coat will provide absolute concealment.

The power, accuracy, and reliability of a .357 magnum, .45 Colt or 10mm N frame is difficult to equal.

I carry the biguns mostly OWB.

High n tight.
Good leather including belt.
Two of em requires suspenders on me...little feller, no hips or ass.

Dress accordingly.

Concealed is a system thing. Body size n shape, leather, dress...all part of the package.

I just bought a 329 and it came with a brand new Milt Sparks PMK. It does a fantastic job of pulling the gun in close to your body and with an untucked shirt or longer jacket/coat conceals it nicely. Its also very comfortable. A little higher riding would be nice and the 55BN would probably fit the bill if they'r making it for revolvers. I think the PMK would be a great option for the 325 too.

I am 5-8 and about 135#. I have no problem carrying a 6.5" N-frame in an IWB. Sitting with it, however, can be a pain, due mostly to the long barrel. Soft chairs aren't too bad, but a hard metal folding chair is an adventure, and the butt gets hung in the opening between the seat and the back.

I endorse my friend Sam’s point re EXCELLENT LEATHER (specifically, a solid, strong belt). I should have added to my earlier post that I use an Akers 1.5 inch leather belt, with a Kevlar inner-liner; it provides outstanding, load-bearing support. The belt is just as important to making large handguns (autoloaders or revolvers) comfortably concealable as a good holster.
