Concerning Palmetto State Armory

If time is a concern, then dont order. If price is the concern, go right ahead. Some of their CHF premium build cannot be beaten for the quality/price ratio ( CHF barrel, quality FF tube, good BCG for around $400 is great) .

Update to post #30 about my now 42 day old order.

So yesterday I'm browsing their website and see the Hornady L-N-L press I ordered is shown as IN STOCK. The one that has been holding up my entire order of 11 items for 6 weeks! WTH?
After having spent over 90 minutes on the phone with PSA over the last week I called them again- they told me the press is NOT in stock despite what the website says and they haven't had ANY of those presses for over a year!
Supposedly they are turning it over to a supervisor and I will be contacted today about what they can do.
I'm not holding my breath as they told me 2 weeks ago a supervisor was looking into my order and I would be contacted, and I wasn't.

Oh- despite telling me that the press is not in stock it is STILL on their website as in stock.

Has anyone managed to buy a Hornady L-N-L AP Press part number 095100 from PSA?
When I bought it there was a 30% off sale making the press $300, normally this press sells for $400-450.
They've had $568 of my money for 6 weeks because of this issue.

There is one other glitch with this order- I am in SC so I have to pay sales tax. I noticed 2 weeks ago they charged me 8% sales tax on the pre- 30% discount price! This is not right- the tax is charged on what the buyer pays- not what the stuff "lists" for! I informed them about this in my first call 2 weeks ago and so far nothing has been done to correct it. The overcharge amounts to about $18.

Actually their warehouse is now in Lexington County (7%- Old Dunbar Rd near 321) but where it is picked up is in Richland (Farrow Rd area) so that is where tax is computed.
I understand paying the sales tax but I ordered $682.38 worth of reloading during their 30% off sale. The net was $477.67- that is what the tax is supposed to be computed on not the $682.38!

File a dispute with your credit card company, based on not receiving your order. I promise you they will get it resolved...either charges refunded or your order will get priority

I bought all the components to build a premium ar pre Sandy Hook. Zero problems and relatively quick ship times. I bought two lowers when things calmed down last year. It took almost 60 days for them to arrive. After 30 days, about 40 days and about 50 days each time I would call in, they would say they hadn't received my ffl information. It was sent to their fax 4 times with a successful ok code. The quality is good but don't know that I will use them again.

It pains me to say but get on Ar15.com. I have had great results talking with their representative on there.

Tried that on AR15.com, took 5 days for a response that was useless. Basically said they would look into it, and let me know, and never heard another word.

Called again this morning (now at 2 hours of phone time with them over 2 weeks) and they said the press they didn't have and part of my order was sent to their store for pickup yesterday. The rest is supposed to be sent today.

Waiting for a call now to let me know it is ready for pickup....fingers crossed.

Added in edit- PSA CS called late yesterday to say they would refund my overcharge of state sales tax. Said their IT department discovered an error in how they computed the tax on % off sales. No kidding!
I asked again about my order and the person calling said my entire order was now complete and at the store waiting for pickup.
She said to allow 24 hours for them to get the order processed for pick up and call.
Well it has already been over 24 hours.

Never did receive a call from the store about my order being ready- so today I went to the store I use for order pickup.
There it was. 44 days since order.

The statement they made they did not have the press in stock and hadn't for a year-
Well the Hornady press was still in its shrinkwrap and still had the ABF Freight label attached- tracking showed the press was shipped form Hornady on Aug 8 2014 and delivered to PSA on Aug 12 2014. So much for their inventory system.

Dang it! I can't win- unpacking my order tonight I discovered the 200 "Premium FMJ" .45 bullets I ordered are not what I got. They packed plated hollow points instead......

Those guys make it really hard to like them...

In their defense, I finally got a reply to my email of last month about a missing item in my order, and they are making it right [will have to wait for item to restock tho'; they're sold out now.] But at least I no longer feel like my inquiry is being ignored! :)

[I imagine SHOT 2015 had something to do with the delay.]

I have only had one business dealing with PSA, and it was approximately Easter of last year.

I had been watching/browsing for a while, but did not "need" anything.

And then I bought (locally) a .300 BO AR upper.

And shortly thereafter, they advertised an AR lower for about $249, with $10 shipping.

I took them up on it, they delivered, I am a happy customer.

I just ordered an AR upper a couple days ago. It's already shipped. I was actually going to ask them to change the order, but as I was going to email them I got them UPS tracking number email.

Go figure!!!

Looking forward to getting my new PSA upper!

Took 8 business days to get the nickel boron BCG I ordered last week. Until Amazon starts selling these items I'll keep shopping PSA.

Side note, the quality of this BCG is pretty amazing! I never thought I'd splurge for one, but for $120 I couldn't resist. Very happy. This is for the OP's knowledge (although the updates of orders and wait times are valuable, we seemed to have forgotten the OP)

Only bad thing is that a day after I ordered they were offering the NB BCG plus a charging handle with tactical latch....for ust ten bucks more. :banghead:

That's really my only complaint about PSA...seems like every time you order there's another deal right around the corner...

I have ordered many times (guns, parts, optics, ammo etc.) from PSA over the last few years. Never a problem. Doesnt mean all the other problems arent real, but they seem to do a TON of business. For new guys looking for a solid rifle at a great price PSA is usually at the top of the list.

Just dont order if you need it in a hurry.

I placed an order with PSA last Wednesday. Got a notice today that it shipped. Five days from order to ship. Not bad, considering their website banner plainly states that they are doing a lot of business and orders may take up to 15 days.

Everything I've ever ordered from them has always came. One order took 6 months (.22LR ammo right as the "panic" started), but it did eventually come.

My advice is to shop there if you want deals, but only if you're patient. They're certainly not known for their shipping speed.

I really wish that they wouldn't ship things that require an adult signature. I'm never home during the day!!!

Well, less than 36 hours from checkout to ship notification on my SSK15 .308 kit. Scheduled delivery is next Tues, 8 calendar days from order. Can't complain about that!

Many of them do this; it's not optional with JSE on packages over $100, and I seem to recall it being required with uppers from DS Arms, too.

You can call the carrier and either request evening delivery (sometimes there's a fee) or pick up at shipping center.

Yeah, kind of a pain, but beats the heck out of coming home to discover a package worth hundreds that was delivered ain't there!

I ordered a new BCG and a couple of Pmags from them on Friday. Today is Sunday and I just rec'd a notification from UPS that they will be delivering the package tomorrow.

Every one of the 1/2 dozen times I've ordered from them, it's been the same.
At $89.00 for the premium BCG, 20% off the Pmags, and free shipping, how can you go wrong?

they have things that some other companies DO NOT HAVE. period.
however the things that make them unique, low cost 20 inch ar-15A2 standard stocks, not in stock at the time.
