I've seen kits that convert .40 guns to 9mm, but not vice versa -- generally because .40 barrel diameter is generally quite a bit larger than 9mm barrels. (And .357 sig CHAMBERS still have to be as large as a .40 chamber.)
I've been told that the Browning Hi-Powers that shoot .40 are NOT the same as the ones that shoot 9mm -- they are subtly beefier. Bar-Sto won't even discuss building a barrel for a 9mm gun to shoot a .40 or .357SIG round, unless the underlying gun was built to handle that round. If you've seen Bar-Sto making/offering .357 SIG barrels, you can bet they are for the .40 BHP, not the 9mm.
If the gun can be modified to shoot the .40 round, it can be modified to shoot the .357 SIG round.... but, is the resulting barrel stout enough to stand up to the strain, over time?
