Back in January, I bought my first handgun, a Beretta PX4 9mm. I shot A LOT of guns and, in my price range, it really came down to the this one, the 92FS/M9, and the Taurus PT92. The only thing I am NOT crazy about on any of the Berettas is the slide mounted safety/decocker, but the guns are so good in every other way that it is easy for me to overlook.
I really like the PX4 in an objective, somewhat intellectual way. I've put almost 1000 rounds through it with only one hiccup, its comfortable, soft-shooting, seems really tough, etc. BUT...
It just doesn't warm my heart.
I am really thinking about trading it on a 92FS/M9. The 92 is, IMO, one of the classics, and among only a handful of truly beautiful pistols from a design standpoint (I'm an architect, so these things DO matter! .) Somehow, as much as I like shooting the PX4, I still lust after a 92 and I don't have the funds to buy it outright and have both. Plus, while I don't have a collection yet, I have one started, I think that no collection is complete w/o a Beretta 92.
Should I do it, or should I be satisfied with what I have?
Thanks guys!
