Not sure what to make of this. Sounds like they were targeting somone but wasn't sure which vehicle they were in so they pulled a bunch over. Legal? I dunno. Plus side, If the chagres and trial are done in Canyon County, once all is said and done, the sheriff will sell the firearms to a local gun shop for the money and not just destroy them.

BOISE - Several law enforcement agencies teamed up to make a flurry of traffic stops near Parma in Canyon County – ending with 39 drivers cited for various offenses.

One man, 23-year-old Jason Crump of Parma is behind bars – charged with possession of marijuana. More than 20 firearms were seized in connection with his arrest. Crump is on probation, and may face additional charges.

Officers from Parma Police, Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, District Three Probation and Parole, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and the Metro Violent Crimes Task Force helped with the effort.

Eighty-five drivers were pulled over, with 39 receiving citations. Officers arrested twelve people on a variety of charges, including driving and drug offenses, and probation violations.

Officers also checked in on six registered sex offenders, and six people on probation and parole.

So, were they just randomly pulling over drivers? Did they randomly search cars also?

Sounds like they found the weed then searched his house. If he was already on probation, bad for him.

Translation: Our multi-jurisdictional taskforce was instrumental in expending remaining budgetary funds before the end of the fiscal year; thus enhancing our ability to qualify for increased funds in the next cycle. SSDD. :barf:
