I had the same thought, kind of like taking lots of time to pick out your equipment, and then getting spawn killed.

Well I'm happy for Ms. Assam. She stopped the killing and the perp's suicide relieves her of any supposed guilt for taking a life.

I don't think they ment that at all. It sounded to me like they were making the point of a firearms ability to equalize and negate a persons stature or sex. What is the old Quote? God made man and Samuel Colt made them equal?

Anyone else get the feeling like the media wants to play up the suicide angle in order to play down the importance of the security guard's actions?

Some of y'all really have no idea what El Paso County Colorado is like ... aside from Manitou Springs, this ain't no Hippy Commune ... I think some of y'all may have visited Boulder once or watched Mork & Mindy and think you know what Colorado is like.


This guy killed himself to avoid facing the music (although I have bad news for him since his suicide put him to the front of the line to burn ). Ms. Assam shot him several times and had he dropped his guns and surrendered as she ordered him to, she'd have stopped shooting and he'd be in jail.

I, for one, am even more glad it was a suicide as it precluded any sort of "finding Jesus in jail" sort of thing thus getting him clemency from the big guy.



As for those that wish to spin this so that Ms. Assam's actions are meaningless because this kid offed himself, I have nothing high road to say to them.

No, I doubt any of us here do, but I bet Matthew the Big Bad Christian Slayer, who is killing people he both hates and thinks are weak got an extra shot of insult with his injury when he was gunned down by some Little Christian "Barbie".
