Could walmart (et al) put a stop to this ammo shortage?

They stock the shelves at 7am on weekends too. That gives you at least two days to try your luck, and it is purely luck. I have stood in line in the morning for 7-8 days in a row and had nothing come in. I've dropped by at 4:30 in the afternoon after catching a Sunday movie and found bulk packs of .22 on the shelf. Likewise I have dropped by at 8:30pm and found them stocking the shelves. A couple of months ago I went in at 9pm and they had six 1,000 boxes of .22 Tactical (black coating like the old Black Talons) and I bought one, could have bought three but left some for others. I went back the next morning around 10am and two boxes were still there so I had no qualms about buying another box so that was 2,000 round in 13 hours. Saturday morning I went by and saw an unopened box of Mini Mags on the floor behind the counter. I looked around, found an attendant and he sold me three 100 round boxes for around $24 total out the door. So it really does come down to luck, and being persistent.

I don't see this one lasting long. Every time this subject comes up we have the same people with the same opinion. Conspiracy, hoarders or flippers.....take your pick. We've discussed this many times, with the same results.

You must be prescient!

The answer is no, and they shouldn't. The "banic"/shortage will peter out on its own over the next year as the supply and demand curves level back out, and we'll go back to arguing about other stuff.
