Yesterday I went out to function test my new 12 rd mags for my P226/.40. I ripped off 140 (flawless, as usual) rounds.

Question about the mags: when compared to the old Clinton 10 rounders, the baseplate on the 12's sticks way out. Past the edge of the frame. Is this normal for all of the 12's out there? Are there shorter baseplates available? Not a big deal really, I was just a little surprised.

Also, when I got home to clean the gun, I noticed that the ejector has come a bit loose. I don't think it was loose before. Round count is ~2200. Assuming this happened during my range time yesterday, at least part of my ammo was fired with the loose ejector, and it functioned fine... but now, if I put my thumb on the tip of the ejector, I can wiggle it around slightly. Is this a problem? If so, am I looking at sending it back to Sig? Thanks.

It's normal for factory baseplates to stick out on 226 mags. I don't think anyone makes any others, and if they did, you wouldnt want them.

My ejector does the same thing on my Sigs and my Beretta's.....some of which are new in box.

The metal bases of the mags on my earlier model P226s (Exeter/checkered (not stippled) grips) extend about a millimeter below the grips. The ejectors are rock solid. 1 gun is unfired, the other about 8,000 rounds through it.
