I've been thinking of getting one ( or two ) of these for awhile. Most reviews are very positive. And even the ones that say there was a problem, say the warranty service was good & problem corrected. Thought they'd make a good truck/car gun. They are inexpensive. So while I would not be happy if the vehicle was broken into & the pistol stolen, it wouldn't be like having an STI or Colt stolen. And part of their lifetime warranty is replacement if stolen. How sweet is that?
So at the gun show in Round Rock this weekend, they are going for $228+tax ( OTD was $247 ). Now I wanted the stainless slide. And even though there were a lot of these pistols, only 3 had the stainless slide. It matters, because they come in, I believe 9 different colors. The stainless choices were Dark Earth, White & Purple. Went with Dark Earth & White. Wouldn't you know, got home & wife says she would have wanted Purple.
Really looking forward to getting to the range and trying these out.

My brother has one of those as an everyday carry gun. Nice guns, especially for the price. His shoots great, and hasn't had any problems with it at all. Little small for my hand, but I still like it. Been thinking about getting one myself.

I bought a CPX-1 right when it came on the market. The aluminum frame cracked and the takedown pin hole elongated, this occurred within 500 rounds. They replaced it with a new one which had a slightly different frame but I ended up selling it before I fired it much due to my experience. They were very nice, sent me a couple extra magazines and were prompt. My guess is they probably have the bugs worked out or they would be out of business since this was 8 years ago. It did feel great in the hand and had nice features although I HATED the external safety, it would come on while firing it. They got rid of that I believe.

The gen-1 SCCY pistols have had many reports of issues. The gen-2 pistols seem to be much better. Mine is a gen-2 CPX-2 (no manual safety) and it has worked with no issues from purchase last year through about 250 rounds. For the money I would say they are OK, and having a relatively low price makes them accessible to more people.

The CPX-1 with manual safety is still made and sold, but the CPX-2 seems preferred if on-line anecdotal reports are taken at face value.

TD1, I suspect they will work ok, and on a personal note I'd not run +P through them even though the manual says a little of it is OK. I did, had no problems, but too snappy and I felt the potential for wear was not worth it.

When I originally got mine the trigger was gritty. I squirted some synthetic gun grease into the trigger area and it helped a great deal.

I have the FDE w/SS slide like yours in the picture.

Great little gun with no issues through 700 rounds. The reset is long, being DAO, but being used to shooting revolvers, it's not an issue. Definitely combat accurate, and I like the fact it's 10+1 hammer-fired vs striker. I keep 124gr HST's in mine.

Enjoy them, they're fun little guns!

I got the wife one of those (CPX-1) because of the low price tag. The recoil was a bit snappy for her and was pinching her pinky and the web of her hand. Actually cut open her finger a little bit firing just a couple of magazines. She also found the grip was too thick for her to grip well with arthritis.

I fired it as well. Wasn't very accurate or comfortable for me to shoot. Wasn't a hard decision to decide selling it.

I have the dark earth CPX2, and this gun is good for what it was designed for. Very compact for 10+1, and I find the frame comfortable. The trigger pull is much too heavy for my liking, but since it has no safety I'm ok with it. I did not shoot this well first time out, but that was me not the gun. Most of my pistols are DA/SA so I'm not used to the long heavy pull. Second time I concentrated more and did much better.

Hard to beat the price and warranty on this gun.

I have the 2nd model and had ZERO issues with it. I have a few 9s but elected to carry this one for the main reason if it gets stolen I have only lost a couple 100 dollars. Best warranty out there. And it feel great in my hands and easy to carry. Sorta like the way it looks too.

It fires everything that I have ever put into the magazine. Even my screw-up reloads. The trigger is OK for a double action gun with double strike capabilities. My only complaint is the the trigger reset.
