My wife was planning on buying me a Hi-Point .40 carbine for Christmas and guess what. The election craze has inspired people to buy them all up. I just called 3 places and they all said sold out and had no idea when they could get one in and that they would be around $300 if they could. I guess when the world ends I'll have to fend off the locusts with my 45-70.

Does a 45-70 have enough power to cleanly take out a locust? Guess I should ask the hunting forum!!!!

FWIW - Hi-Point told me they've been having trouble with one of the vendors that supplies parts for their carbines, and that has brought their carbine production to a standstill. This was back around Father's Day, when I wanted a .40 myself. They didn't project a resolution to this supply problem until next year. You should call them up yourself and get the straight poop directly from them.

The store I wanted to get mine from couldn't get any, but one of their sister stores in another part of the state had several. So, one of the store's managers drove there and they transferred a bunch to our local store, and I got my 4095 and a 995 carbine for my grandson. I hope you can get one, they're a LOT of fun to shoot! Ugly as hell, but reliable and accurate.

Anteater beat me to it but there are 8 pages of Hi-Point stuff on GB. On page seven is a new 9mm with a "Buy It Now" for $190.00.

You just gotta look a little.

Well then I guess you've got no choice but to upgrade to a Sig, CZ, Kahr, 1911, BHP, or other high-quality pistol, as there is not quite the run on them by the public. Sounds win-win to me. :)

I didn't look on the interweb thingy. I guess I haven't fully embraced the concept of buying guns online. I guess I kinda like to coon-finger the merchandise before buying and like the idea of having some slob behind a counter telling me "This is what you really need".

Does that bayonet work well on my 1895G??

Upgrading sounds good as well. I have had my eye on a Ruger compact .260!!!

This is why I vent here. All the great ideas.

Okay, anyone else on this thread, in addition to ur daddies daddy, that doesn't want a free Hipoint carbine shipped to their FFL today...please post a "No Thanks" before the close of business today.

The 9mm Hi-Point carbines are $169 around here and available. Haven't noticed any .40's though.
My wife also wanted to buy me a gun for Christmas. She wanted to get me an AK-type. Knowing the climate, I purchased it November 3rd....and they sold out their stock totally within that week. The only one they had in stock there yesterday is now $100 more than I paid four weeks ago for the same gun...and it's considered a bargain price these days. Crazy.

Just get her a nice Ruger PC9 or PC40. Someone was selling a PC9 on one of these Forums the last week.

"I'm soooooooo happy I got my Saiga when I did."

Me too!
I bought mine for $275 otd last year.

THEY'RE GOING FOR $600+ NOW!

But I'm keeping mine. I love it.

Try finding a Kel-Tec SUB-2000? Way lighter than a Hi-Point. And I'd have more confidence in a gun with a steel bolt than one with a cast zinc bolt...

I wouldnt take a High-point if some one gave it to me, just my .02

We are talking the carbine here, not the pistols. The carbines are actually quite nice for fun plinking.
