He wanted the adult tricycle...like a bicycle but with 3 wheels that older folks in the area seem to favor.
I am glad the 2 gentlemen involved where not killed, I guess the critter was holding the gun 'gangsta style'. The bail amount seems kinda low though for a double attempted murder though.
Dateline Tampa, FL
A man was arrested after police say he shot two people at a Hartline bus stop Tuesday afternoon.
Police say Davon Olajuwon Church, 18, shot Teodoro Ferrer, 75, and David Thomas, 42, at a Hartline stop on Waters Ave. after Church tried to steal Ferrer's adult tricycle. According to the police report, Church punched Ferrer in the face after Ferrer confronted him. Thomas came over to assist Ferrer, which is when police say Church pulled out a gun and fired at least eight shots.
The suspect was apprehended after he ran into a nearby tobacco store. He surrendered after speaking with a deputy by phone. Deputies said he gave no motive for the shootings, and that he said tossed the handgun into the woods as he was running from them.
Ferrer was shot in the lower leg. Thomas was hit in the left shin. Both men were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital.
Church was taken to Orient Road Jail. He is charged with two counts of attempted murder, attempted armed robbery and elder abuse. Bail has been set at $19,000.
