Simply Rugged is very popular with the guys carrying large revolvers. Many of their holsters are 3-slot pancakes holsters making them useful for either strong side or cross draw carry.

Leather and kydex are good materials for holsters, nylon less so.
The general recommendation for a belt for a large heavy gun is a dual layer leather belt. For me, 1 1/2" is the most versatile size, but if you mostly wear jeans you could go with 1 3/4" and if you mostly wear dress slacks, the 1 1/4" is probably the best recommendation. Simply Rugged has a single layer belt that has a good reputation, but they now offer a dual layer belt like most belt makers.
If you want a less expensive belt, The Wilderness Tactical has a very well respected nylon belt. Most will recommend at least the 5-stich version and the CSM will provide even more support.

Just about all the well known holster makers make a gun belt, so if you find a holster you like, it's always easier to get a good match as far as size and color go, to buy the belt from the guy making your holster.
***Pay attention to the sizing information from the belt maker. They all seem to use some slightly different ways to measure size and most are not the same as your pants size.***
