i've been looking around a couple local shops and searching online, but i'm wondering if anyone can inject a bit of reality as far as a good, fair price is for the following:
P01, PCR, SP-01, 75b
i THINK the one i want is the p01, but others have recommended the pcr. no store around me seems to have these in stock but they say they can order -- a couple quoted the p01 as high as $600 which seems way too much (msrp, after all, is $612 according to cz website). budsgunshop shows the p01 at $496 (not including ffl fees of course, or the extra 3% if ya use a credit card). in any case, that might be the best i've found so far.
i'm really interested in one of the compacts, but i can easily get either the normal 75b or the sp-01 in stock. an academy store nearby has the 75b for $430, which seems good compared to everywhere else. at another store i found a sp-01 (i forget the price). i liked the gun, but it was a bit hefty and since i'm looking for a more compact one to carry, well, i just don't know. i'd hate to have my decision affected by which is easier to get, but i feel odd about buying something i've never held.
i've got a couple dealers calling me back on monday with pricing, but i just wanted to hit y'all up before they give me quotes.
anything in particular i should look out for or be aware of when making the final choice? i think i like the idea of a decocker, but then again i've never actually held one of these since nobody has them in stock. i'm confortable carrying a DA revolver, and i think having one of these with a decocker would feel "similar", in the sense of not having to carry cocked & locked which i don't think i would be comfortable with. having it one in the chamber and hammer half-cocked i'd imagine would the safe way to carry.
