Are they as reliable as the older P230? I've heard the 232s made now don't have a recess for the empty casing to catch in while ejecting, any truth to that?

I sold off my PPK/S as it was never reliable enough for me to be comfortable with. Fired a friends older Sig P230, Russian Mak, and Walther PP in .32 ACP and none of them malfuctioned with any ammo.

Local shop has a few P232s in stock, all blued w/ night sights and since I cannot find another reasonably priced P238 around me, I've given 232 some thought as it's priced about the same as the PPK/S.

I live in a condo, and rely on a 12ga mainly, but my P238 serves as a sort of backup to that. Not really fond of its smaller safety lever, but it is a fun gun to shoot. Thinking the simple DA/SA 232 would be a lot easier to manipulate but any thoughts on them are appreciated.

I have a stainless steel model that was purchased in 2010. I've put 500 rounds through it since then and it has performed flawlessly ... no failures or hang ups of any kind. I find that it points naturally, for me at least, and is extremely accurate. I remember placing a box of 50 American Eagle, 380 ACP 95gr FMJ all within a 4 inch group at 7 yards. It is certainly more accurate than I am. Good pistol ... a keeper.

My only problem is the slide catch lever and lever spring that has a tendency to pop off when stripping it for cleaning. That spring is a small part that can get lost easily.
