A question from someone with relatively short fingers: How is the DA trigger reach on the current production PT92? When I was in the Army, I found the M9 trigger reach just a bit much given the thickness of the grip. Looking at some pictures online, the PT92 looks like it may be better (shorter) in that department.

A couple DA semiautos that I don't have a problem with the reach on, for comparison: Beretta PX-4 Storm 9mm, with medium backstrap, SIG SP2022, CZ75B.

Of course, the PT92 has the advantage of being able to be carried cocked and locked, so that eliminates the issue.

Any other info or feedback is welcome. As far as I know the PT92 has a very solid track record, but it doesn't hurt to hear any other possible pros or cons with the gun.

Intended use is to have a larger capacity nightstand gun than my CCW.

Most current production Beretta 92's (though I don't think any of the M9's have this) have a radius'd backstrap that shortens the trigger reach. I don't believe the Taurus has this modification. As you mentioned, though, it does have the cocked and locked single action advantage.

Thanks. Yeah, I was aware of the Beretta 92 grip updates, and plan to check them out. I haven't been able to find very recent reviews on the Taurus to see if they've done similar trimming, so figured someone around here may have one.
