Okay, I know the President of the company reads and posts here. I hope he reads this.

Now here is something I really don't need, but I suddenly really want to buy... Uberti makes a mini Rolling Block, and there are Low Walls in small bores. But I'm not attached to these guns, neat as they are. I do have a bit of an affinity for Sharps rifles.

One shot from a Sharps .45-70 last Fall has been feeding us for months, and from the looks of the freezer, should be feeding us for a long, long time into the future.

The thing is, a .45-70 isn't much of a plinker, and black powder cartridge rifles are a PITA. Reloading, cleaning, etc. can be time-consuming.

But Charles Daly now makes a "Little Sharps" in 10 calibers from .22LR and .22 Hornet, to .45LC and .30-30. I feel the suck, suck, suck of money being pulled from my wallet by an irresistible force.

And NO, I don't need the thing. I don't have a legitimate USE for the thing.:)

What a neat gun...

Crap, another rifle just got added to the list of guns I don't have yet. :)

I with they could make the .22 with a shorter barrel and a little cheaper. A 17 HMR would be fun though. I'll have to keep that in mind.

Curse you for posting this! I was happily unaware of this gun and didn't even know that anyone was even considering building it! But, Nooooo! You had to let the cat out of the bag and now I'm Jonesin' for it!

I didn't know about this either... money is being allocated for one in .22 Hornet. :D

ArmedBear: Thanks for your post. Our Little Sharps is a "neat" gun.

We have been delivering them slowly but surely, so far in .38-55, .45LC and a very small number in .22Hornet. More Hornets are on the way next week though with more rimfires to follow, then we will be building all the other calibers listed on our website.

Look for the June issue of Shoot Magazine next month for a full blown review on the gun!

MechAg94: We will be correcting the bullets shown on our website under the Little Sharps photo. The rimfires are being built with 24" barrels. (That is shown in the individual item listing further down the page, just not under the photo.)

I wish I could do something about the price, but whether in centerfire or rimfire, the cost to produce is the same. And the US$ vs the Euro is putting huge pressure on prices now.

If you are on the web page, and click on the item number to the left of each individual rifle listing, you will see an expanded window of techincal details. However, I'm embarassed to say that I just did click on one of them and saw that the weights are incorrect. They are all shown at 7.5Lbs. when in reality they are from 5.5 to 7.5 Lbs., depending on the caliber. (I will have those details corrected on Monday. The webmaster is in the doghouse now!)

Once you guys pick up one of these you will just not believe how nice they feel, particularly if you're used to lugging around a full size Sharps. You will need at least 3 different calibers! :D

Are these built in house, contracted out domestically, or imported?

Looks neat, I want one in .38-55.

I have a lever gun with a 24" heavy barrel (Marlin 39A) in .22LR and it shoots very well. That's a great length, IMO, especially for offhand shooting.

pilatuspilot: These are made in Italy for Charles Daly by Armi Chiappa. This maker also produces a full size 1874 Sharps and our 1892 Lever Action Rifles.

The Little Sharps Co. of Montana has assisted us in this project.
