Hey guys,

I have a Savage 110 as you can see from my sig line. I like it a lot and it's darn accurate as long as I do what I'm supposed to. There are a couple more things I want to do to it though.

1. Some form of cheek rest. I shoot prone and benchrest, and with the stock I have it's kind of uncomfortable to get a good cheek/stock weld. I also shoot 3 position air rifle and the Anschutz rifle I use for that has a great, comfortable cheek rest. I've seen one version that you can stap on, and other versions that require drilling through the stock. I'd rather not have to do that, but I guess it'd be ok if it was really worth it. I need a rest that makes it easy to get a good consistent stock weld, especially for long range since my scope does not have parallax adjustment. What are some options for a good, comfortable cheek rest?

2. Something to use for a palm swell. Again, I'm pretty used to the Anschutz rifle where everything is adjustable and very ergonomic, so I want to make my Savage just as comfortable to shoot. I've seen the one on midway which looks like it would work. Nothing says I have to buy it either. If there's a good way to do something like this with common household items that would be great.

Any other ideas? I'm not looking to spend a whole lot of money, just to customize the rifle to me so that it's ergonomic and easy to shoot.

How about a new stock from Richards Microfit? Or, I have several stocks from B&C on my Savages that I'm happy with. Going to buy the adjustable cheekpiece from Karsten's Kamo for my long range gun.

Sorry I should have just copied my rifle's specs from my sig line.

I already have a Bell and Carlson stock on it, as well as a different bolt handle, sling, bipod, SSS competition trigger, and a Bushnell Elite 3200 scope.

That cheekpiece from Karsten's is one I was looking at but you have to drill through the stock and I'm not sure I want to do a permanent modification. If it's really worth it I might, but I was just looking for other options as well.

I have the Karsten cheekpiece on my Savage and it is well worth drilling the holes.

A friend has one of the elaborate adjustable comb conversions on his... but he bought a Karsten for his next target rifle.

Hmm I didn't know there were 3 versions of the Karten's piece. Are the later models supposed to be better or for different applications?

Has anyone used the strap on kinds like the Eagle stock pack? Do they just move around too much?

Any ideas for the palm swell. There's one on midway that looks like it just sticks on. I don't know how durable that would be. Are there any other options?

I have the black tactical bolt handle on the rifle. It came like that so I'm not sure if it's the one from SSS but they look exactly alike so it probably is.

I've used the Eagle Stock Pack on a Savage 110 and the Beartooth Comb Raiser on a synthetic stocked W94.

I've shot several F-class matches with the Eagle Stock Pack present on the Savage 110, it didn't go anywhere.

That's good. How comfortable was it to use? Is there any adjustability built in? Or do you just stick foam or something under it to get it where you want?

rodregier, how adjustable is the Eagle stock pack?

Thanks guys.
