I want to lighten the mood a little!
Anyone have a cute story about shooting or guns with the kids?

I have a one I'd like to share.

One year in December one of my granddaughters asked grandma,

"Grandma aren't we having Christmas at your house?

Grandma's response was "yes we are dear, why do you ask?"

Grand daughters response was

"Grandpa's cannon is parked where the Christmas tree is supposed to go!"

Any body else got one?

I take my grandson, 13, shooting when I can. He's shot my Buckmark .22 pistol, and a Marlin .22 semi-auto rifle, and he's quite good with both.

Had him try a K frame .357 with moderate handloads, didn't care for it. But when he tried the same loads in my .357 Rossi 92 lever action, his comment, complete with a big smile, was "this is my new favorite gun". He shot it well, too.

He had a bit of a time loading the cartridges into the side, but to be honest, sometimes I do too. But it was working the lever, rather than having the gun auto load for him, that I think he really enjoyed. He's probably the one who will wind up with most of my guns.

Years ago my younger brother had a tank top that said "welcome to the gun show". My son was just getting decent reading skills so he'd asked what it meant...fast forward a bit, couple months ago I mention going to a gun show and my now 9 year old says "I don't know why you'd want to go see a bunch of guys in tank tops"
