cutting ambi safety

is it possible to cut an ambi safety notch onto a pair of 1911 grips without special tools? is a dremel and a pocket knife all that is required?

better question may be "how hard is it to cut the ambi safety notch on a 1911 grip" (pt1911)

I don't think it's all that hard. I've had my best luck having the grip laying on a flat surface (grip side up) and slipping a dremel cutoff wheel in to just shave a very little bit in a very small spot. If you have one to look at then you can see where you want to relieve.
