Fellas, anyone used one of these or know their reputation for accuracy? A near new stainless one with 22" barrel has come up nearby. Was considering getting it to play around with heavy bullets as its 1:20 twist is a bit better than my Rossi 1892 1:30....

Would you generally expect better accuracy from this break action than your average lever gun?

Im also trying to figure out whether all CVA scouts are takedowns? Or are the guns that take down tools free a specific TD model only?

Mine was accurate, traded it for another project, but it was a blast to shoot. Put a red dot on mine. The forend comes off easy and the barrel lifts out of the frame. Very take down friendly. I want another one...

My buddy has one and 240gr xtp and a stout load of IMR 4227 it shoots 1-1.5” at 100yards

I shoot mine with 300 grain cast bullets suppressed but never really bothered to shoot groups with it. Yes the forend clips off and the barrel just tilts off the frame.

Had one, shot well with the 3 or 4 factory loads tested and took a pair of deer for my daughters. Sold to swap for other deer rifles but the guy who bought it has had similar accuracy results. Only thing I didn’t care for was the plastic break lever.

Did you have a CVA Hunter? The Scout has a metal break lever that acts as the trigger guard.
