I saw one of these and I wanted to know if they were made llike this or if it is some kind of after market job.

The price was abou the the same as a regular CZ-52. I am in the market for a CZ-52 but I can't decide on cal now. I didn't know the 9MM existed until today. It would make finding ammo easier but I kind of wanted to shoot the hot 7.62x25 ammo.

Hi, the 9mm versions use aftermarket barrels. Some at
CLUB '52 say the 9mm is unreliable. Most of these guns
usually come with both barrels so you can shoot TOK ammo.

A lot of good info there on the CZ52. www.czforum.com

I have a CZ52 that came with both a 7.62x25 barrel and a 9mm Luger barrel. The 9mm barrel runs fine. I have had no trouble at all with mine. It feeds fine through the standard surplus mag. So, just buy a regular CZ52 and if you want a 9mm barrel, they are out there for your enjoyment.

Good idea! I didn't think that I could just buy the bbl.

I guess there is no excuse for me not getting a CZ-52 now.:D

Check out the information here also: http://www.makarov.com/cz52/index.html

I don't know what you are intending to do with your CZ52. Mine is a toy. I never had a problem with either barrel, but I haven't shot more than maybe a couple hundred rounds with each barrel. The point is that if I had a jam now and then with it, it wouldn't keep me awake at night. I am not staking my life on it. But as a plinker/toy, it is a great gun at a great price. YMMV: you can only buy your own and test it using your own methods to see how reliable yours is. Which is what I would do before I carried it as a self defense piece

Yeah, mine will just be a toy also. I have other guns that are better suited for defense. I really like the idea of the super fast 7.62x25mm ammo and also a 9mm bbl for extra ammo use.

The CZ52 is a lot of fun. It is yet another one of these communist block guns that are pretty darn well made that are avialable in this country for peanuts.
The 7.62x25 is an interesting cartridge. I personally bought a case of the Winchester ammo for mine. I did shoot some surplus through mine but I was kind of turned off with some of the warnings of super hot/dangerous stuff out there in this caliber. I saw a notice on makarov.com about a lot of ammo that has been known to blow up a CZ52 and of course that is exactly the ammo I had bought at the last gunshow. So, I figured I would be on the safe side with the Winchester stuff. 7.62x25 isn't available in every corner gun shop, so having the 9mm barrel certainly makes the CZ52 a more versitile platform.

I thought the CZ52 used hot loaded 7.62 tokarev at 1600 ? Anyway a more interesting conversion would be to 7.63 Mauser a real high velocity 9 once made for the Mauser M96 and now all but forgotten.

Because of the cheap price, I ended up buying two CZ52s. I bought all the stuff for sale at Makarov.com and installed it on one of the guns. If you want to trick yours out a little this is a one stop place to do it. However, the walnut grips they offer were really plain looking. Hogue makes a set that look outstanding.
After putting all this stuff on my CZ52, I personally think it is not really any better. If I was going to spend a little bit of money to improve my CZ52, I would buy a set of good adjustable sights for it. I almost never shoot my 52s, but if I get the urge to again, I will consider getting some really good sights.
