Does anybody know the twist on a 527 varmint laminate. The web site says 1/12 but I have heard people say they had one in 1/9. Anybody have one or know.

Depends on caliber, I know they recently changed from a 1:12 with their .223 Rem. to 1:9 for the obvious reason. They're okay rifles if you don't mind a gun that only makes one hole. :)

Thank you guys very much for the speedy response, thst's great news. Sorry I was unclear about caliber, 223 was what I was wondering about.

Heck, my standard light-weight 527 American only makes one hole.

The heavy barrel varmint model should only make a semi-hole.

I've got the Laminate 527 Varmint. Regardless of the CZ web site, it's a 1:9" based on a tight patch and measured rotation on a cleaning rod. I agree with the other posters, and like it.

The magazine allows a little longer loading than an AR mag.

Laminate Varmint - 1:9
Kevlar Varmint - 1:9
Curly Maple Stocked Varmint Classic - 1:12

I have the 527 Maple Stocked Varmint .223 w/ Nikon 6-18 Buckmaster scope. She'll most definitely shoot one hole groups. But, I have to use lighter weight bullets due to the barrel twist. I'm using 50gn VMax's & she's a sweet little rifle.
I believe the laminated version 527 has been discontinued as of this year.
