I am thinking about ordering a CZ 550 in 30/06 tomorrow. Will I be happy with the rifle? I am mostly accustomed to using Weatherby's and Ruger M77's. No dealers around me have any CZ's so I am kind of ordering blindly...Any info would be appreciated.

I have 4 cz products, two rifles, two pistols. Even though they have gone up in price over the last 3 years by about 150 dollars, they are still one of the few rifles, that after you work with it, and shoot it a bit, you still will say you got your money's worth, and a bit more. Their accuracy, set trigger, and beauty , for the money, is top drawer.

Buy the 'American' version of the CZ. It will have a stock style you are familiar with. CZ is a super rifle, great wood and excellent metal work. Don't be concerned if the trigger isn't perfect, it's easily adjustable.

I have a CZ550FS (full stock) in .30-06, and it is a fine rifle. Good, solid action that smooths up with time and good accuracy.

I have had a couple. My 30-06 chambered CZ-550 with the Bavarian style Mannlicher stock is very accurate. The single set triggers are very light.
The Euro-style Bavarian style stock does not have much drop and is better for iron sights. I mounted a scope on mine and it is not all that great as far as cheek weld and eye position.
