I'm seriously considering getting one of these towards the end of the summer. I have a 527 American and absolutely love it. Anyone have or shot a 550 VK 22-250? What'd you think?

Thanks

I bought that exact rifle last August and scoped it with a Bushnell Elite 4200, 6x24, 40mm. I couldn't be happier with either. This combination is as good as you and your ammo can make it. For extra $ you could put some more "ooh ahh" glass on it, but I doubt you'll make it shoot any better. Scope choice is a matter of preference, opinion and, particularly, pride of ownership. IMHO, no matter what glass you put on it, you won't be disappointed in the performance of the CZ......Using a friend's hand loads (we use the same distance to ogive), he and I both consistently shot sub MOA groups and most were under 1/2 MOA. Good luck, whatever you choose.........tog (USMC, 59-63) semper fi

I forgot to mention the single set trigger. It's a feature I'll always look for in a varmint, or target rifle in the future. You would have to work to pull your rifle off target with that trigger.
You've probably already researched this to death, but one more note; viking is right, the laminated stock is a little over a pound heavier than the Kevlar. I wouldn't find that a problem shooting at p-dogs, but it might be an issue if I needed to carry the thing for a ways.................tog

I seriously considered one in .223, they look and feel like a great rifle. Unfortunately they have a slower than optimum twist (for heavy bullets), and if I'm getting a varmint gun might as well get a 26-28" barrel to maximize the velocity. I was thinking of one for F-TR shooting, but I really needed to stabilize the longest bulets and get max velocity.

As a dedicated Prarie Poodle gun I think the 22-250 would be excellent, the CZ single set trigger is the only one I'd rather have than the Savage.
