I looked at a CZ-75 SP-01 yesterday. After reading about how much people love these guns I was really surprised at how awful the trigger was in single action. DA was fine. But damn SA was link dragging the trigger over a rusty brick for 1/4". :barf: Maybe my 1911's and Hi-Powers just have me spoiled?

Other than that I really liked the gun. Can the trigger on them be cleaned up any?

Haven't seen THAT in any CZ, wow, dragging over a brick.
Yes, the triggers can be cleaned up, if need be. I haven't had to in 5 pistols, myself.

I bought a 75b used. It had a useable trigger, but far from a good trigger. I smoothed mine out a great deal buy using it. Now the trigger is very smooth and feels lighter...but it has too much creep. There are good cz smiths out there who can make the trigger what you want. Try czshooters.com.

Here is a link to a diy trigger job, from czshooters.

Tactical or not?

You didn't mention if it was a manual safety or decocker. The trigger mechanism in a CZ-75 type raise the hammer ever so slightly to fire so you will be hard pressed to find a 1911 trigger feel. It can be done and the guys over in the CZ-USA forums can help with the manual safety model. Not everyone will touch the decocker, though.

The only way to fix it is to cut the hammer hooks, and cut the positive angle off the sa hook. If you watch the hammer in sa pull, you will notice it moves back as you pull. The grittyness will wear away, but the camming wont. I worked on mine, and have the sa pull down to 4#, but I'm no gunsmith, and wont work the hammer any further. CZ sells a competition hammer, that fixes the problem, but a gunsmith must fit it.

Okay. They are not too expensive. I'll see if I can find one without the silly knife on the front and get one.

Thanks;)

Huh, I just picked one up Friday (ordered from Bud's).

The single action is somewhat creepy but mine is pretty smooth and is only about 1/8"-3/16". Hammer does cam very slightly. My 75B is slightly less in both areas.

I found my PCR trigger started to come around at about the 500 round mark. Lots of dry fire with snap caps as well. The first pull is a little heavy....but once the hammer is back she is a smooth as silk. I am very accurate with this gun...the gun is much better than I can shoot.

HKSW fine looking gun you got there... hope you have cleaned it up by now. :neener:

You experience sounds rougher than my SP-01 was out of the box, but, like other people have noted, mine has smoothed out significantly with firing and dry firing.
