i want a new gun here soon, and this is the two ive narrowed it down to. the CZ is kinda what im leading to, though i dont like DA/SA guns, i think the 75b can also be cocked and locked right? only recently the xdm has got my attention ive always liked glock for your striker fire pistols, but the xdm feels better, more like a 1911. still dont like its trigger reset though. any suggestions esspesally from people who own both

I currently have an XDm and have had a P01 and a 75B. I'll start off saying that I'm a fan of CZs although I don't seem to shoot then well. But I'm pretty sure that I'm the problem there. I thought my XDm was not accurate, but after sand bagging it I know that the problem there was also me.
The Springer is growing on me. I had a shooting lesson last week and used the XDm and became good with it using the instructors advice. The Springer gives you the choice of three backstraps. Also has a holster which I'm using for Steel Challenge practice. I've added fiber optics to my XDm because I find them to be much easier to focus on.

You probably can't go wrong with either. Here's a pic of the XDm in 9:

I have several cZ 75s and they are best handling pistol for me. To me, the XD is top heavy and feels like a brick. The XD is a good pistol, but not for me. Try to shoot both before you buy so you can make the better choice for yourself.

I have both.......had the xdm longer. To me there is no contest. The CZ 75B is the way to go. It is the most accurate gun I own (out of 10) and the fit in my hand is the best too.....despite the xd's multiple back straps.

Plus as an added bonus the CZ is cheaper and it is all metal.

The 75B can be carried cocked and locked.

I have a 75b omega and 75 SA, like em both, both more accurate then any other autoloaders I have shot, including the Xd series.

You might check out the sp-01 if you are getting a 9mm

Ooo..... thats a good one..

I love both of them and shoot them both often.

I think i would have to chose the CZ :banghead: as much as i want to say XDm, id say cz for what your talking about.

Honestly you can't go wrong with either :what:

Very interesting thread. I was at my local indoor range today, took my CZ-75/9mm and my CZ-97/.45. God my 97 is a freakin' piece of machinery. Ah-hem, back on topic.

I fondled an XDM-40 in the gun case. Nice. Impressive. Great grip for me, maybe just a little small, but certainly workable. I liked it, but did not get to fire it.

I would really like to know how accurate the XDM is rested from 25 yards. I have read the FNP-40 will do <2.0 inches. I know my CZ-75/.40 can do <2.0 pretty easily. I don't like 3 inch, or greater, 25 yard pistols.

I don't have the XDM but I do have the XD and a CZ75B, and for me the CZ sees much more range time. Hard to describe why because there is nothing wrong with the XD, but the grip, weight distribution and overall performance goes to the CZ. By the way both of these guns have been flawless in performance. Either one is a good choice.

verdun59,

I keep trying to find something that shoots as good, if not better than my CZ's. I would love to find that in the XDM, but I can't shoot anything as well and as easily as do CZ's. The attached pic is typical.

Very different guns. i've spent lots of money on finding out that striker-fired pistols and I don't get along well. Owned glock and XD. Have since become a big fan of the SIG 226 and Beretta 92. CZ is in the same league, and a bit cheaper. Slightly harder to get parts for, but not as hard as parts for the XD.

Funny story. I have already loved and lost a CZ75B in .40; well, I'm the one who broke it off so I have no one to blame but myself. I decided I had no business riding off into the sunset with that caliber, so I sold it and two rifles to start something new with a .308 She's Russian, and quite naturally attractive, but I wish I still had my CZ75B .40

I also wish I had an XDM40! I have the XD45T, and have spent some time with a friend's XDM40 and it is as impressive as the CZ in accuracy (which can put 'em in the same holes if you can). I once hit a 100yd shot with the XDM40 that was only off by 3-4" windage.

Long story short, I am reuniting with 40 soon and someday will have one of each of these fine pistols. But if I had to pick one . . . the weight distribution of the CZ and the fact that it has the same capacity available as the XDM40 gives the nod to our contestant from Uhersky Brod.

verdun59,

This target is obviously from a "good" day. You don't want to see one of my "bad" day targets.

I think I'm getting a mostly "pick the CZ response" on this topic.

Heres my favorite 9mm:)

The triggers get better with use, but to eliminate the camming, you need a trigger job. If your not afraid of lots of pieces, you could tackle it yourself:D

chemclay,

Take a look at my CZ in the picture I posted. It has the CZ Competition hammer. Best thing since sliced bread. Absolutely -0- camming in SA, in fact, it's very close to, and can be made practically as good as a professional 1911 trigger. Add a 15# hammer mainspring and, viola', you have a different pistol.

Comp hammer costs a whopping $58.00; mainspring from Wolf is about $7.00. The CZ Custom Shop Tactical sights are simply awesome; about $80.00 for the full set. Again, look at the pic I posted.

Takes a CZ from great to world class.

chemclay,

Yes. From the CZ Custom Shop. If you already have a CZ-75, you can save yourself a chunk of cash and upgrade, or have a local smith do the work. I bought a Custom Shop SP-01 about 2.5 years ago, with all costs factored in, I spent $880.00.

I have no idea what the charge would be to upgrade your existing pistol. You'd have to call the Custom Shop.

I have never heard of a single person say they regretted doing these upgrades. Not one.
