I just purchased a new CZ 75B polycoat for use as my weekend range gun.

Aside from adding on LPA fiber optic sights soon and getting a possible trigger job down the road (2K rounds), I need some new grip panels.

I'm not very fond of the plastic cheese graters, and I'd like something a little more ergonomic for my big, Teutonic gorilla mitts. I have Hogue fingergroove grips on my .357sig p226, but I'd like something that's thin at the top of the grip w/ shelves for my thumb and trigger finger for target shooting.

Any suggestions?

I see alot of CZ75 grips on ebay that look interesting. That might be a good place to start. Nill grips are definitely nice. Also, CZUSA may have some nice stuff. I ordered some checkered wood (probably walnut - can't remember now) grips from them for my dads CZ75 Compact.

Nill grips are very nice (and pretty pricey) and sound like they're the closest to what you want.

Many will say "the" wood grip maker for CZs is Hakan Pek (however I don't know if he makes a thumb rest type grip).

Apologies for going OT: Can you order from CZUSA over the phone? Used to be you had to send them a check/MO, please tell me that's changed.

I find the Hogue's too bulky but the factory CZ rubber grips work just fine.

I have a set of checkered White Ashtree grips from this guy, and they're quite nice, especially at 20 bucks.

I'll also take this opportunity to show off my Hakans :)

(Bear in mind, he's not currently accepting orders due to health problems.)

I replaces the plastic grip panels with the CZ factory rubber grips and like them a lot.

Check out Angus's website - ghostholster.com. It sounds like the factory rubber grips that came on my SP01 are just what you're looking for. You can also check out the new thin aluminum grip panels.

You can also order the rubber grips directly from the CZ USA online store.

+1 on the Trausch grips. They are the best feeling grips that I have had the pleasure of using, and many have commented how nice they feel on my CZ75 in .40 cal.

+2. They're on all three of my 75Bs. I especially like how they've shaped the rear of the grips to blend in perfectly with the contour of the backstrap and provide a greater contact area with the part of the palm that absorbs the bulk of the recoil. The improvement is most notable when shooting the 40S&W version.

And they're aesthetically pleasing as well.

Could some of you guy with Trausch grips on your CZs post some pics? :) The pics on their website are too small. :(

I have both the CZ plastic & the CZ rubber grips. The CZ rubber grips are REALLY comfortable, IMO. Everyone who's held my CZ comments on how great the grips feel in your hand.

So I strongly suggest the CZ RUBBER grips (the plastic ones are uncomfortable).

thanks dleong!

Does the upper shelf on those grips make manipulating the thumb safety difficult?

I have the factory rubber grips on both of my CZs, but these Trausch grips are intriguing...

You're welcome.

That's a good question. The upper ledge of the left grip panel does somewhat get in the way of the thumb when flipping the safety on, especially if one has a large thumb. Flipping the safety off, of course, is no problem.

I have Hakans flame birch grips on mine. He has quite a selection and they're well made.

I found a nice pair of wood grips at a gunshow in Houston, TX. I looked at several he had there in the case but these with the woodgrain following the angle of the grip really caught my eye. Hope you like them as much as I do.

Sam Barbakov at Omega Grips does custom CZ grips. I'm not sure if he does a semi-thumbrest pattern regularly, but I imagine that he can if that's what you want. I've ordered from him in the past and have been happy with the quality and speed of production and delivery.
