Why isn't it made?

Why is there only a decocker model in 9mm luger?

Furthermore, were I to want to piece one together, is there more entailed than "replace magazine, replace barrel" like you might find when switching a Sig between .40 S&W and .357 SIG?

The public demands to know! (or, rather, I'd very much appreciate the answer if anyone's ever inquired about this).

gmofftarki,
I just started a thread but no bites yet. I just purchased a CZ SP-01 Tactical in .40S&W from Ghost Products Inc. As soon as they get my friend's FFL, Rob Bagnato says he will ship it out to me (Texas) with the hicap mags. $650 including shipping.

Pending further investigation, I think 650.00$ might be somewhat high in comparisson to what I've seen in Colorado Springs.

Ghost Products...

Bought a couple guns from GHOST and his prices have ALWAYS been very fair and reasonable... and always on the LOW side.
Regarding the SP-01 .40... it's a relatively new gun and he could be charging alot more. The $650 with shipping INCLUDED (his prices always include shipping), is a real good price... Para, you got a good deal and DIDN'T get screwed!!
Treo... you may be thinking of the 75B in .40, which is about $500+.. but NOT an SP-01 Tactical.
Any business has to make a reasonable profit to survive... you can't begrudge 'em that.... And GHOST has always been very reasonable with their pricing...
You can always shop around, but I'd never hesitate to buy a gun from GHOST... and Rob is ALWAYS very helpful.
Para... you're gonna love that gun... have it in 9mm and along with my P-01... they're MY FAVORITES!!!

Thanks GZOh,
I may be banned soon for something I said in reply to Treo. As it is my reply was deleted. But here are the highlights of my reply to treo without me calling him any names:
By saying that I had been had, by implication, you are calling me a dumb jerk since I was gullible enough to pay that exorbitant price and you are calling Angus Hobdell a price gouger. Treo, you should know better and you should think before posting. You could have asked for clarification and I would have gladly given it. Like I said in my deleted reply Impact guns had a similar price range but not any better and I chose to buy from Angus Hobdell and Ghost Products Inc. for the reasons given in GZOh's reply. I also apologise to you and the other forum members of this thread for implying that you are a jerk.
Thanks once again to GZOh for the excellent reply and the encouragement to those of us new to this forum and to CZ's fine pistols.

If shipping is by UPS, it's only by Overnight Air, is it not? And isn't their fee around $35? While it varies with the seller, some fee for the packaging is not at all unusual. And, for instate sales, there is the sales tax.

It stirkes me as rather naive to compare in-store prices or the price in a face-to-face sale between individuals with that of a "mail order" transaction.

Treo...
you find a better price on the .40 version..or you just making noise? interested in finding one..and if you got a lead. let us know.

Treo... you may be thinking of the 75B in .40, which is about $500+.. but NOT an SP-01 Tactical

Possibly, I thought I saw one in the CZ case at Specialty Sports in the low 500s I'll have to go back and look again. But Specialty Sports , well, let's just say they're pretty proud of their guns so I figure anybody that charges more must be asking an outrageous price.

<Personal insult removed.>

I don't remember personally insulting anyone in this post ( and certainly not in an Art's Grammaw kind of way) but if I did I'm sorry

CZ SP-01s...

Right now, the CZ SP-01T is a very popular, high-demand gun... and alittle tough to get, tho NOT out-of-stock!
To get a good handle on pricing for CZs, I usually check with BUD's in KY... and GHOST in AZ... both are usually on the LOW side for pricing. You can sometimes find someone on GUNBROKER or ACTIONARMS (auction sites) that's 'giving-away' a NIB CZ at a low price... But for me, unless I'm saving a hell-of-alot more than $20, I'm usually gonna go with someone I know!
As eerw pointed-out, there are alot of us CZers out there and if someone see's a 'super-deal', as they say, get yours then share it!!
Hell, I remember buying my 75BD (9mm) NIB from a dealer on GUNBROKER for $405... it was still wrapped and never opened, and full of the CZ 'bear-grease'... it was a great deal, but those are few and far inbetween.
Para... enjoy that great gun, cause in six months you won't even remember what the hell you paid for it!!!

In 1991, I paid $560 for a Beretta 92FS new. I wanted the gun and I paid what I had to, to obtain one in the area I was in. Since that time, over the past 17 years, I have rarely seen that pistol sell for that much. In fact, I have seen it sell for substantially less. I could have bought the same gun used from CDNN two years ago for two hundred dollars less. Does that make me a "dumb jerk?" I don't think so. Does that mean the gun store I bought it at 17 years ago gouged me? I don't think so. That is what they were selling for at that time, in that area.

Anyone who has been around the block a few times has realized that the same firearm may sell for different prices around the country.

Most people who have been around the block a few times have paid more for a firearm than someone else did.

That does not mean they are a dumb jerk, and it doesn't mean the seller gouged them. It means they paid what they needed to to get the gun they wanted, and the seller maintained his profit margin.

People get to dadgummed wrapped up in the emotional aspects of besting someone else at the sales counter. Worry about besting yourself at the range instead. Take the things shooting. Shoot the bejeezus out of 'em and forget about it.

Anyone care to answer the original poster's questions?

Why a 40 cal.? I bought my 75BD a few years ago and love it. Also think 16rds of 9 is plenty. This is eventhough my main carry gun is a Glock 23. Most of the problems I read about with CZ are their 40 cal guns.

I dont know why they dont have one, but I guess the P-06 would probably be the most comparable to what your wanting.

The SP-01 Tactical in 40 S&W just came out on the market, thats more than a fair price, including shipping and from what I hear there are alot more things in the works for next year so maybe that might happen or maybe a small batch of them will be made.
