I've seen these in the Sarco ads in The Shotgun News. Apparently they're 9x19 chambered pistols based on the Tokarev that were made by Zastava. Does anyone know more about these? As I understand it Zastava is a good arms plant and the Tokarev is a solid design. Doubtful I'll get one, but they do make me curious at $190. I would think that a solid design like a Tokarev in a good defensive caliber like 9x19 would be a good truck/beater/utility pistol at the price. What do you folks think?

Toks are very reliable guns, and parts are easy to find. I don't know if this particular gun shares parts with the old military pistols, but if it does you won't have any trouble keeping it running.

The original design had only a half-cock notch for a safety. When these guns are imported a jury-rigged thumb safety is added, sometimes it's a decent design, other times it's not. I do not know if the safety on this particular pistol is implemented well or not. If it is just a range toy, it may not matter much to you either way, but if it may serve a SD role at some point, the reliability and usability of the safety is a major concern.

They are new production M-88s (compact version of the M-70). Features a factory slide safety like other new production Zastava TTs now imported by Century Arms.... the Model 88 is very popular in Serbia/Ex-Yugoslavia (TTs in general popular).... it is relatively easy to CC being a single-stack
Are these made by "THE" CZ

They are made by Crvena Zastava (now Zastava arms) not by Česká Zbrojovka (ČZ/CZ)

I little .32 I understood to be a "model 70". Nicely made little gun. I'd love to replace a cracked grip if anyone happens upon a source for parts.

Funny fact Zastava has at least four different firearms designated M-70

Automatska Puška M-70 (AP M-70 assault rifle based on Kalashnikov rifle adopted by the JNA in 1970)

Lovački Karabin M-70 (LK M-70 hunting rifle based on Mauser action)

and two handguns, one is a M-57 but chambered in 9x19mm and other is a "pocket pistol" often carried by military officers and policemen as a backup gun, chambered in 7.65x17mm .32 ACP (gun in the Mikes picture)
