I bought my first CZ a year and a half ago. It was a P-07 and it made me doubt my Glocks and forget about my dreams of an H&K and P226. I recently added a P-01 to my collection and I plan to get a P-09 and probably a RAMI. They point, shoot, and fit my hand like nothing else I have picked up.

The guys at the gun stores and my buddies in the Marines all pick on me, and I don't care because it is kinda fun to be different. My main question is: am I crazy? Literally nobody else that I know uses these guns, and even finding one is like pulling teeth. I hear guys knock their durability and reliability on other forums (hkpro especially) but I have literally never had any weapon not go boom since boot camp. Am I just lucky?

Thanks in advance and have a good one!

Still enjoying this site, and am hoping to settle in here.

Mike.

You're not crazy in the least. You've merely had the wisdom to separate yourself from the great unwashed masses.

Ať žije naše krásné Česká Zbrojovka pistole! ;)

You seem perfectly normal to me, but then again I own a P-01 and a Pre-B CZ 75.

I bought into the internet hype a few years ago and gave CZ pistols a chance. I found them to be over rated and over priced for what you get. Accuracy was above average, and I still think they make a good range gun and shooting games platform after some work.

I soon found why almost no one chooses them for serious SD, LE or military uses. Reliability just isn't there and some design features are less than desirable. I gave up on mine, sold them and don't plan to go down that road again.

What kind of reliability issues did you have? Which model CZ? What features don't you like?

It seems like every forum I find has one guy that dislikes these guns, but never answer so I would love a reply. What to look for, etc. I literally can't make these things fail. Any ammo, fast, slow, mixtures of ammo, never cleaned my P-07 still out of curiosity. I can't leave my P-01 dirty though...

CZ pistols are fine guns with a dedicated following amount their users. If your friends make fun of your handgun choices just grin and keep shooting. ;)

Sent from the Andromeda galaxy using Tachyon particles

Sure would like to add a CZ to my collection, great reviews on those guns. In fact I am just about ready to try one.

1858 New Remington army 44 cal.
Daisy Red Rider .177 cal.

If you like it that's what counts. Personally I only own 1 75b and wouldn't buy another, it's an ok gun but certainly nothing special. Except for their SAO high end match models I just don't care for the triggers.

I just gave my P-07 to my father-in-law, but I'll have another soon. One of my favorites is my PCR. I love that gun!

-I own several CZ pistols and rifles along with their cousin the Brno rifles.

They are accurate, reliable and enjoy excellent customer service from CZ. If I had to get rid of my firearms these would be the last to go.

The CZ PCR was developed as the sidearm for the police in the Czech Republic

PCR = Policia Czech Republic

so the claim that no LEO's used a CZ is not true.

I have 2 BD's, a PCR and the steel framed Compact. I had a matte stainless, but couldn't bring myself to shoot it, so I sold it to buy a couple hunting shotguns I wanted.

The CZ design is very widely copied. The Armalite AR-24 is a clone as well as the Turkish clones. If they were junk, the design wouldn't be so widely copied.

CZ

The P07 Duty is a great pistol that is very much under rated, in my opinion.

Ignore JMR40 when it comes to all things CZ. His "no one (leo/military) uses it" roughly translates to, no one in the United States uses it.

And the Phantom is not currently being imported into the US because all the production volume is being used to fill military contracts.

...but let's not introduce facts into a time honored rant.

I still want to add a CZ to my lineup, but there is a long list of guns that I want to add......... so

I used to have a Rami and stupidly traded it. Good pistols and great CS. Don't forget the 75 is one of the most cloned designs so they must have gotten something right.

The only complaint I have is trigger reach in DA mode, I have a very short trigger finger so to be honest most DA/SAs give me fits. I have a 75 Tac Sport that's a dream to shoot but it's size puts it in the range use catagory.

I don't so much mind that they aren't popular, and I couldn't care less about their contracts (I am former Marine infantry and I have seen the stuff they give us. As to the police? I don't ever plan to drive a Crown Vic either ;) )

My main concern is that there may actually be a reason, other than lack of advertising and the whole "Glock or H&K or you're an idiot" BS. I love my other handguns, but I can't understand why these things haven't caught on more.

Seems like the guys who bash them can't back it up, the ones who love them love them a lot. As a big Subaru guy, I'm used to this haha

Thanks for all the responses fellas.

Mike.

If you're crazy at least your in good company. :D

They're great guns and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Those that try are the same people who will try and convince you that a Glock is the Rolls Royce of handgun when in reality they're more like the AMC Gremlin... :neener:

Here is a quick way to tell if a firearm is one you should keep. Go on GunBroker.com and do a search for let's say a Glock 17 then write down how many are listed. Do the same for the CZ 75 B and write down how many are listed. Make sure that you have only the "Used" box check when preforming these searches. People generally don't get rid of something that works well for them, so this should give you a reasonable idea which handgun most shooters believe is better...
