I just picked up a CZ Rami and I am having a problem. The book says the slide release pin needs to be tapped to get it out. I can't budge the thing. Is it normal to have to pound on the pin to get it out? I don't want to damage the pistol, and I have disassembled by share of autoloaders, but never ran into one that was this tight.

Any suggestions would be most welcome. Post here or email me:

The manual skimps a bit on instruction. First, remove the mag. Then put the hammer on half cock and pull back the slide as far as it will go without moving the hammer. Then, use the plastic front of the mag base to push out the slide release. It's more snug than on a standard CZ 75 in my experience, but it should come out without much force.

Thanks a lot. I was not pulling the slide back, but I had a feeling I should be. Appreciate your help.
