CZ Rami v. Cz Duty v. Cz 75D Compact

Dear THR,
Between Rami, Duty and 75D Compact, which is a better CZ for carry with reasonably good accuracy at 15-20 yard range? I have all three, but might just keep one. I have my own arguments, but would like to know what other people think?

I have heard that there are some reliability issues with the Rami. Mine has not shown any signs of any malfunction yet.

I love my PCR. Had a Rami, but sold it. Friend had a P07, but had problems and ended up trading it off.

Go with the 75D.

I like everything about my P-07 Duty - the trigger, reliability, and shootability. I don't have a Rami and prefer a decocker to a safety, so I don't have the 75 Compact either. It depends on what shooting style, DA/SA or SA only, you prefer. For me, the P-07 Duty is hard to beat. YMMV.

I think the PCR is what's labeled 75D Compact. Possibly the P01 as well.

I love the cz 75 series, so the compact would be only natural. at this time, I am saving for the SP-01 so I think you would be happiest, and have more options with the 75 compact.

The CZ75D compact is with decocker. The D is for decocker version.

My PCR is labeled, CZ-75D, but I have seen P-01 labeled as such also, and also labeled P-01. The PCR is a wonderfull carry piece.

I am a little confused as to why everyone is referring to CZ 75D Compact as PCR. Can someone please explain?

I think the 75D is very easy to conceal plus probably easier to shoot accurately than the RAMI.

Look up the CZ PCR in google.

The PCR and the P-01 are both decocker-only compact 75s, they share the same slide, their frames are a little different, and the P-01 is often found marked 75D Compact, as if the slide started life as part of a batch of PCRs, then got diverted.

I have looked hard at the Compact and RAMI for conceal carry use because I am looking for a great DA/SA carry gun. I have not shot either so I can't comment on accuracy nor did I vote. The research I went through seemed to indicate more problems with the Polymer RAMI rather than the metal one.

The RAMI is slightly smaller than the Compact, something like .30" in the grip which doesn't sound like much but was noticeable while handling. Length is the biggest difference. If you are going to carry Inside The Waistband then your pants will hide the extra length. Carrying OWB and the shorter RAMI might have an edge depending on how low your shirt tails come down.

On the 15 to 20 yard accuracy issue. My friends and shooting buddies have a saying, 7 yards is self defense, 15 yards is murder. I probably wouldn't take a shot with my CC weapon beyond 10 yards for that very reason. I'm more concerned about draw speed and ability to quickly place follow up shots for that tool.

Distance to defend oneself is important to keep in mind, but it is a great bonus if a carry gun can actually shoot well further away. It's nice to have a single gun that is accurate enough to practice the up close quick shooting as well as the far away slow fire. Not that one would be defending oneself with far away slow fire.

I have two pocket guns that shoot pretty dang well at 15 yards. Then there is my CZ75D PCR, which can shoot 25 yards better than I can.

The PCR and P01 are very similar. P01 has a light rail, PCR does not. PCR has a loaded chamber indicator and the sights are more of a snag free version. Both are decocker models, take compact mags and have a "lighter than steel" frame. Both are great guns. But the PCR is easier to conceal due to no light rail, thus smaller on the muzzle end.

I have a CZ 75D PCR and the RAMI. For me the PCR is the better of the two. Actually the PCR is my Favorite pistol of any I own.

PCR is my typical carry, AND one of my favorite range guns. It's small, but not so small as to compromise shootability. Think Glock 19 vs Glock 17, or Sig P229 vs Sig P226

I used to have a 2075 Rami. It was a first year model. Should have known. Rule #1: Never buy the first year of any new model, be it cars or guns. I never could get it to run reliably.

It seems that CZ's polymer recipe hasn't quite been perfected as of yet. I've seen a couple of the Rami P's with the bulges on the right side of the frame, towards the front. I've heard the same stories regarding the P-07, which I too used to have.

Therefore, I voted for the Compact 75. It is not much heavier, if any, than the Rami. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a P-01 or 75 PCR Compact in the near future.

I tried both the CZ 2075 and the P-07 but I didn't care for their ergonomics and the way they felt in my hand. I really like my P-01, especially when it comes to its accuracy. The DA trigger pull is still a bit stiff and heavy but SA is doing just fine. And while the box lid label had CZ P-01 on it, the slide is marked CZ 75D COMPACT.

I voted for the PCR.
I owned a RAMI 2075P in 9mm Luger. Had no problems with it. However, the PCR is just as easy to carry.

I voted the PCR also. I also agree on how it looks great with wood grips. The pic shows CZ's thin grips which I love. I do believe the factory grips are some of the finest grips made, period. However, I'm a wood fan.
