I just brought my new Scorpion to the range today and after the first 10 shots, the trigger does not reset anymore. I had to manually flip it forward to reset it.

The trigger will reset only if:
  • I point the gun 45 degrees to the sky and
  • cycle the bolt at hand-recycling speed (i.e. moderate speed recycling)

If I point the gun horizontally, the trigger will not reset automatically. If I recycle at recycling speed similar to a typical cartridge discharge (i.e. fast recycling), it will not reset.

Any idea what's going on?

I've had the trigger reset spring break on a couple of semi autos, including a H&K P7 and a Canik C100. But that was after lots of rounds and dry firing.

I have no idea what the internals are like on the Scorpion. I do a little tinkering with some of my handguns, but when I opened up the C100 and saw all those little pieces and parts, I took it to my smith. He said it took 10 minutes to get it apart and an hour to put it back together.

Don't know how or where you acquired the CZ, but I'd take it right back to the vendor. Or contact CZ.

I didn't think of this earlier, but most folks recommend a thorough cleaning of a new gun before that first range session in case there is crud from manufacturing in the guts of the thing. Let us know how it turns out.

Trigger spring not engaged

Upon field stripping it and flipping the hammer to cocking position and releasing the hammer with the thumb in between to ensure it does not slap too hard I can see that every now and then, the trigger spring does not engage to reset the trigger.

Can't really see the interior very well without disassembling beyond just field stripping. I am not going to do this right now but I am going to ask for an RMA and send it in.
