Okay, so my gunsmith friend really wanted to use my pistol to do a "distressed" [and sort of Steampunk-ish] look. It took him quite awhile and he finally finished it. It's a "distressed" look, as if it had been used a lot, rusted some, and this is what it looks like. It was a combination of some Black, Burnt Bronze, Bluing, and clear coat [all Cerakote products]. The grips I used were from CZ Custom [Bronze Aluminum].

It's a bit unusual, but also like art work. I plan on using it if I get into competition shooting.

It isn't completely done yet. One final step [not to the finish, but another part of the gun], but I'll save that for later.

Well I will say it's certainly different looking; sort of like an old high polished blued gun that's seen better days. If you like it then that's all that matters. If you do use in competition I would like to know how well the Cerakote finish holds up.

Thanks for the comments guys. My gunsmith friend is "a bro",....and he REALLY wanted to do this to my gun, and loves the way it turned out. In fact, he's always been a Glock, S&W M&P kind of guy, but now he wants to get a CZ [a few of them actually] because of how awesome my SP-01 is. I like it pretty much. Kind of growing on me, but I plan on leaving it like this because of the artistry he put into it.

But it is interesting what you said, Walt. I am certain that if he had the correct colors, he could probably do an actual case hardened Cerakote finish on a gun. He's been in the business for years.

Gorgeous and a one of a kink look! He did a great job. Very unique.

Anyone tells you different , they are either jealous, not into guns, or just have no taste. It's a beauty and best of luck with it.

I'm digging it. Looks better than the standard run of the mill dull blue, parked, or stainless guns, and those grips are great too. It's an all around nice look.

The glock guys want you to know that no matter how nice it looks or functions, it's still not a glock. :p

It's your gun OP so, I guess if you like it, that's all that matters. And, it sounds like you do. I would not want it on any of my guns.

Well, it may not stay this way indefinitely. He wanted to do it. I think it is an amazing piece of art. But whether or not it stays that way will be a bit uncertain at this point. He put a lot of work into it . . . . . . . of course, with the understanding that if I didn't like it, he would refinish it again. I may do that. For now, though, I'm going to keep it like this. Later on, I may play around with what best finish color would go well with those Bronze CZC grips. BTW, they make it feel AWESOME in the hand. :D

I would shoot it in competition. That gun will look great after a few thousand draws from a kydex holster.
