Yesterday I bought my first double-action only striker fired and first polymer frame pistol when I decided to go with the CZ 100 as a cold weather carry weapon. As a guy who started big bore shooting with the standard 1911 Colt, I hope I didn't make too many changes too fast. There won't be a chance to get to the range till next weekend, but I've been practicing point and dry fire drills so far. The trigger's taking some getting used to. It's smooth enough with a bit of stacking at the end of the travel, but better than the pull on my standby P-1s or my buddy's Smith 39 as well as my Smith 36 and Ruger Security Six. Weak hand shooting is going to be a chore till I get used to that trigger and it starts breaking a little easier. 1000 dry fires down and several more to go. Pass me those snap caps!
I like the sights, blocky and adjustable with glow in the dark paint. My impression of that last item is "Why bother?"
This is my first CZ other than my plinking 52 that needs (another) firing pin. I think we'll be happy together.

Barrel stop

It's a metal plate set into a dovetail, relieved so there's a sight channel with the front and rear. It's for one handed loading, the way I learned to load a 1911 or to clear some jams. Press the stop against a table, whatever, and push to cycle the slide. I'm not sure of it's tactical value. The callow youth at a gun shop told me it was for mounting an Aimpoint, which seemed logical at the time.
I'll olet the board know how it shoots. Unfortunately, it's time for 9 weeks exams at school and I have papers to grade. I'm chomping at the bit to wring this one out.

That makes sense. If it had the traditional CZ rear sight, that would have worked:) Enjoy your new gun!
