I've got two CZ75s I'm comparing side by side, one is a pre-B and the other is a B. When I was reassembling them after bringing them home, I noticed that the pre-B does not have a feature on the barrel that the B does, and it seems a little funny.

Sorry about the lack of terminology, but on the bottom of the barrel is what I'd call a lug where the recoil spring assembly snaps into place. There is a divot drilled into the B that allows the recoil spring to set in place, and on the recoil spring assembly there's a little nub that fits in there nicely. But, on the pre-B, it seems like this divot is missing, but the recoil spring assembly still has the nub.

Is this just a manufacturing oversight? It seems to me that it should be there and was just forgotten.

Thanks in advance.

I can't tell, from your description, what the difference might be. And I've had both. If you're talking about an indentation in the lug, to help position the guide rod, they probably just changed the design, over time.

I know from experience, however, that the 9mm pre-B and B barrels are interchangeable, so the difference isn't too important.

That's what I was wondering, in terms of an updated design. I was hoping someone w/a pre-B might chime in.

If you're interested in a NIB pre-B, just call Sportsman's Fast Cash in Sandy, UT. They'll sell the gun for about $385 and then you'd have to pay shipping to your FFL. They had a bunch of pre-B guns that they've been sitting on, but they'll sit on them a few more years to get that price. They're nice, though. I guess that's why I bought one!

A NIB pre-B for $385 is a very good price.

I've seen them selling for $500-$600, and sold one, myself, for over $500. (I've had several pre-Bs, but don't have any at the moment.)
