I'm with Old Fuff and Oro on the finger grooves. Skip-em.

I have medium hands, wear a "large" glove, and the Hogue Rubbers pass the sip test, but as soon as I'm going full speed and clenching down hard, they're VERY uncomfortable because as I choke up on the gun, the grooves keep my fingers in the wrong place. It actually starts to hurt.

The stock S&W target grips are nice, but very thick. Something slimmer, but similar is nice.

I have a pair of Herrett Shooting Stars that I picked up used and they're about the best so far. They're checkered, but not grooved. They have slight humps for the thumb.

ArmedBear, not to steer you away from the Ahrends, as they are good products, but did you see these Eagle's in the classifieds right now:

See item #12. He may be a new member here, but I know Paul from a while back on another forum and he is good people. We have traded/swapped stuff and stories in the past. The Eagle's have a bit of palm swell around the screw and feel a bit like the old Coke Bottles (e.g., very nice). I tried the Eagle combat/finger groove ones with the palm swell on my 686 and it was too much, but the target style ones are indeed nice.
