Date on Sig 225, W. German

Just picked up a sweet shooting Sig 225 with markings that it was made in West Germany. My books don't have diddly on Sig SN's, so I thought I'd ask to try to get some more info. SN is M537 7**

I'm using a Galco horizontal holster for a 229, which is surprisingly too big, not too small.

I don't care much for Sigs in general, but this one really stands out from the current crop of fat-handled double stacks. Handles and aims as neatly as my flat-top Ruger Security Six. The night sights still have some radiation in them, to boot.

Actually I just got word that Sigarms doesn't release its SN info and you have to call their customer service line

Well I called Sigarms, and after a long hold it turns out my SN is "on microfiche" and they may or may not email me the date at some point in the future

I just used that date code
A = 0
B = 1
C = 2
D = 3
E = 4
F = 5
G = 6
H = 7
J = 8
K = 9
from the FAQ to get a good estimate for my 225. Close enough for me.

WhoKnowsWho has nailed it, as the date code that
was provided is the best way to tell. If my memory serves
me correctly, the P225 is still made in Germany; not by the
SIGARMS plant in Exeter, New Hampshire?
