I don’t post much but have to give a shout out to Dave Manson Reamers. Great tools, even better ppl to deal with.

Long story short - I’m a tinkerer/bit of a perfectionist who enjoys working on my own stuff. Not a ‘smith. After learning of Dave Manson Reamers, I bought a crown kit plus a few extras. Had some questions Blake Ross walked me through and all I can say is “wow! Easy peasy.

I’ve recrowned and polished my Kimber 82G, an old Marlin .22, a couple .30 cals and they’re puuuuuurfect!! Noticed my .338-06 and .35 REM could benefit from a crown & polish so ordered arbors for them just today. Spoke with Blake again and he remembered me from before. Had a real nice conversation and as before before, he kindly took the time to explain a few things to me. A true gentleman at a great company!

Best of all, my crown and polish jobs are done right, without pulling barrels or paying for the service. That’s my experience and anyone with the least bit of talent can easily do the same thing. Every rifle I’ve done shoots better than it did. These are good tools. FWIW.

Several years ago, I bought a 30 Remington chamber reamer and a 30-06 pull through chamber reamer. Both items worked perfectly. I had some questions on the 30 Remington reamer. They took the time to fully answer my questions over the phone. Quick and timely service on both items. Good company to work with.

"What gun were you chambering for .30 Remington?"

I was putting together a bolt action 30 Remington using a Stevens 200 action. The Stevens 200 action was a low-cost variant of the Savage action. Easy barrel change and bolt head change. Unfortunately, the Stevens 200 action is no longer offered.

LOL! Guilty of my own thread drift but being a fan of Savage actions - interesting... never knew of Stevens 200 action variant. Tinkered with an older Savage .243. IMO an outstanding “working man’s tool.” Regret selling it.

The Stevens 200 was a rifle sold by Savage. It was a low-cost version of their regular Savage rifles, with a regular Savage action. The Stevens 200 was discontinued when Savage brought out the AXIS as their price leader. When Savage discontinued the 200, the 200s could be bought for very low prices. That's when I bought mine. Since I was going to replace the barrel, the stock, the trigger, all I wanted was the action and bolt. It seemed the way to go.

Getting back to Manson. When I was looking for a 30 Remington chamber reamer, I called Manson looking for one. They said they didn't have any in stock, but they could grind one for me. I then asked them, since you're going to grind it for me, and since I'm going to use it in a bolt action rifle, not the regular semi-auto or pump, could you grind it for a minimal chamber size. They said sure no problem. In a few weeks I had my chamber reamer. They also ground a 30 Remington go-gauge for me.

The fact that I could talk to someone on the phone who understood what I was talking about and actually delivered in a timely fashion really impressed me.

Whenever I'm looking for the type of product that Manson sells, they're the first place I look.

I have a very early 110 in .243. Amazingly accurate, at least for the first 3 shots. Gotta let it cool after that or it starts to wander. Don't need more than 2 anyway. If I do my part 1 usually gets it done.
