Part of the Vamps v Zombies is the sheer numbers of zeds overwhelming the vamps.

And if a vampire bites a zombie (or zombie consumes vampire blood), does the zombie become a vampire? If so, which side does it fight for?

Yeah... DW kinda lost me when they went all fantasy on me. doesn't mean I'm not gonna watch it though. :D

If Armand Dorian starts blabbering on about how a wooden stake to the heart is an instant kill, I will probably begin to vomit profusely.

I guess they're simply running out of ideas.

yeah the whole "zombie apocalypse" thing is the new trendy gun topic nowadays. pretty cheesy thing to base a firearms show about, but at the same time, it is a tv show driven by ratings.

i'd still rather watch that than people throwing rocks on top shot, while listening to the annoying host's voice.

Vamps are smart, they don't have to bite to kill and they have ways of easily evading zombies. Haven't you read Monster Hunter? :)

To each their own. I'd rather watch a show that involves actual shooting than one that pretends to fire AR 15s and have jams with them.

I agree with N00k3.
They test similar weapons with totally different tests. Jamie and Adam know how to do tests.
Mythbusters + deadliest warrior = awesome tv.

I'm talking about Topshot and I didn't say it was real, just that they actually shoot guns. The episode with the IRA vs. the Taliban, they literally pretended to fire the AR 15 with mud on it. I'm not the brightest but when a semi auto is shot, theres muzzle flash, recoil, and casings eject out the open ejection port, not the still mud covered closed dust cover.

True. Their claws play prominently in the episode. Not to mention, vampires can use weapons. What sort of gun would a vampire use? Or sword?

Haven't you read Monster Hunter?

Sadly, no. It's very high on my books to get list.

I would imagine a sword because of how fast they are and their strength.

Actually the James boys won. Al was the last to go on his side. He tried to match a switchblade against an Arkansas Toothpick.

That one surprised me. I thought Al Capone's gang would have won.

They had a freak of nature doing the shooting for the James Gang. He tore up the shooting tests. I thought the Mob would win at the start but going by fair tests the James Gang won. They out shot the other side.

Yea its a cool show I guess but the inaccuracies they put into their "special simulator" really bug me sometimes but that cheesy reenactment at the end is always amusing. The doctor I'm sure is a really smart guy and lends some credibility to the show but its really funny how like 90 % of the time he walks up to the dummy that they just cut in half with the skull on the other side of the room and declares it dead. Entertaining none the less though.

I still think the "mob" vs the Yakuzza" was the worse example of a mismatch yet. Baseball bats and ice picks against hand crafted weapons that take years to master. That bat would have been whittled down to a match stick along with everything other than the Tommy gun. The mob was really never known for their weapons, just their fear tactics. I think the yaks have them way beat there also, as I sure wouldn't want to go back and tell "wang sung" that I screwed up knowing I lose a finger "at least" because I did something like not put the sacred mat in the right direction. those guys are fanatics. Mob guys aren't like that since the 50's. Now they all fip if they get caught. A yak would disembowel himself first. Tough room.

Yeah -- the Yakuza versus Mafia episode was the worst I've seen.

I thought the most idiotic thing about that episode was that they had the Yakuza armed with the sai, when their weapon of choice pretty much throughout history has been the katana...But I guess a Mafia thug armed with a baseball bat besting a katana-wielding Yakuza would have had a little bit too much Buford Pusser to it... whistle3.gif

Foreign Legion vs. Gurkha

What bothered me the most about this episode was the test between the Lee-Enfield and the MAS 36. Guess what: I own both of those rifles, and I can tell you, 100%, the MAS 36 is clip fed just like the Enfield, the Mauser 98k, Springfield, etc. The Legionnaires did not have to single load their magazines as they depicted in the episode!!! The results would have been far different if he had used the stripped clips for the MAS (his reloading speed would have obviously been faster).

As far as the cartridges are concerned, the differences between the .303 Mk VII Ball and French 7.5x54 is academic. Both are pretty close in power, with a slight edge to the 7.5. However, the .303 was known for tumbling upon contact with human tissue. This one is a toss-up as to cartridge effectiveness.

Lol, French Foreign Legion vs Gurkha

They had the dummies set up with Tannerite, and after each round the narrator was like
" 3 Instant kills "
I'm thinking well no crap they where loaded with explosives. * Facepalm *

That was pretty ridiculous, since they pointed out how the James' gang was made up of war vets and thus knew how to shoot, but ignored that a gigantic chunk of Capone's men were WWI vets. Then they pitted a SASS master against a couple of guys who obviously had no comprehension of how to shoot a subgun worth a crap. And the Cowboy Action guy shot better? Well, dur...

I was highly entertained.

They'll likely get back to more realistic scenarios but it was a lot of fun.
